The Chatham Anglers' summer season came to a disappointing end last night in a 2-2 tie. This type of score isn't supposed to happen in baseball, but the Cape Cod League has mandated a curfew: games may not go beyond 12 innings.
Claiming neither win nor loss, weary players left the field in a strange state of limbo and inconclusive state of mind, together with lots of other mixed feelings, as the time came to say goodbye.
Yesterday's pre-game interview with longtime head coach John Schiffner is well worth watching. What a fine example of dealing gracefully with disappointment and loss. Schiff's words capture better than anything the spirit of the Cape League and this year's Chatham A's - the talented players, the challenges they've faced, close bonds that have formed, and important examples of true character.
The summer season is all too brief.
Goodbye, A's. Safe travels home. And best of luck always.
So long summer, we hardly knew you.

Cricket is the most favourite game of Indian and Fifa World cup is the favourite game of most of other people but my favourite game is baseball. The information you have shared over here is really nice and I have enjoyed reading this information.
